THE FAMILY LIFE AMBASSADOR PLEDGE

As a Family Life Ambasador we pledge to be a partner in building strong and stable families in Singapore. We acknowledge that the Singapore Family is the basic building block of our society. We believe that strong families are our foundation and our future, and that it is the responsibility of each and every Singaporean to play a part in bringing about strong and stable families in Singapore.

Strong and stable families can only come about through multiple partnerships and the involvement of individuals, families, government, employers, unions and civic groups. We have an important role to play in fostering such partnerships wherever feasible and will do our utmost to help achieve this vision.

We recognise the need to encourage our singles to socialise, get married and form families. We are also responsible for imparting knowledge to and sharing our experience with those getting married to prepare them for their marital roles. We will help equip parents with parenting skills so that they can inculcate important values in their children and bring them up in healthy and happy home environments. We will also encourage married couples to love and support one another to build strong and lasting marriages.

We will actively support the promotion of family-friendly work practices in the workplace to help us balance our work and family responsibilities better. We believe that a happy employee is a productive one and will involve everyone in the organisation to adopt a pro-family corporate culture based on respect and trust.
